The book of Revelation is a fascinating book, and it is a necessary book for Christians and the Church today. Yet, many people have shied away from studying Revelation out of fear of not being able to understand it -- They think if scholars and Bible teachers have disagreed about its message and interpretation, how can they really get at the heart of its message? Who can really know what is the right meaning of it all when there are so many options and opinions out there?
The good news is that we CAN understand the book of Revelation. Not only can we understand it, we are expected to understand its message. We were meant to know what God is saying in this book. In fact, this is a book laden with blessing to those who read, hear, and do what it says. God gave to us the book of Revelation to reveal HIS truth, which means that it is within the grasp of every believer in Christ to understand and enjoy this book. It is part of God’s written and authoritative Word. It is for us.
God wants us to know about who He is, and about His sovereign control over the events of this world, the glory of what Jesus has already accomplished through the gospel, the accomplishment of His plan of redemption, and the preservation of His people. But, it is also a book that challenges us to remain faithful, even in the midst of overt persecution, temptations to compromise spiritually, and in face of the seductions of this world’s materialistic system. We are called to be overcomers, and the book of Revelation gives us the means and the encouragement to do just that. This book will strengthen your faith and remind us of the hope that is found in Jesus - our Savior, who is coming again to make all things new.
